Dji Phantom 4 Drone – Matt Hardy Photography

So I have been looking for something to take my photography to that next level.

I have been looking at Drones for a while now and decided to wait for the specifications to improve before I made my purchase. When I saw that the DJI4 had been released I knew it was time. Its has an incredible 12mp camera and 4k video camera and that’s just the start. The flight time is impressive for a little built in smart battery and everything is recorded onto a micro SD card. It features a lot of built in intelligent flight modes and is super user friendly.

I love the sleek look of the body, Dji has really refined this model and its the smartest phantom yet.

For now this is only for personal use and exploring Dorset by drone. I will in time hope to take the course needed to obtain a pilots license and then I can use this for commercial use. Below is a video I made on a rather misty evening in Swanage filming the local area. It was mainly a test flight and film to see how everything performs and operates and to be honest I was blown away by it.

Feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel where I will be posting more Dorset based videos.

Poole Guildhall Wedding – Stuart & Sue Get Married

Another lovely wedding

This time it was the the turn of my cousin Stu (Stew)and his partner Sue.

It would be my first family wedding and I was excited and nervous as it was family. Nothing beats a local wedding and especially when I know most of the guest I was eager to go. Stepping out my front doo the weather was perfect. No less then 100 meters away from my house I met with the ladies who were having their hair and nails done. After breathing in somewhat more hairspray then oxygen I departed to meet the lads. The drinks were already flowing rather well and Stuart’s nerves were settled. It was nice to be photographing my cousin on his big day and to also capture some lovely family photos. Go time and we all walked into town and boarded an old red london bus that would take us to the cermemoney.

Arriving at the guildhall I was greeted by familiar faces as I have now captured a few weddings at the lovely  location in old town Poole. The ceremony was short and sweet and were s0on making the most of the outdoors for the group shots and portraits. All aboard the bus again to head back to Wareham for the wedding breakfast and evenings entertainment

Below are a small selection of my photos from the day, if you are a friend or family of the bride and groom then you can view all the images here, (please just ask for the password ask the bride or groom)

@lovefordorset Instagram

I love where I grew up and I love photographing it, Dorset has some of the most gorgeous countryside in the UK. I am still finding new areas of the county to photograph in the different seasons throughout the year.

Instagram is HUGE, if your a photographer and your not on it then you should be. I share my images on there for people to see all over the world. This is where I found a small but growing community page run by another local now friend Dave. @lovefordorset features Dorset in beautiful photographs from local photographers and residents of the area. I have now teamed up alongside Dave and help run the page sharing my own Dorset landscapes and featuring what other people have captured.

If your a fellow dorset lover and photographer then please follow the page and tag you images for the chance to be featured.

Eric Cantona, A1 Sporting Memorabilia & Matt Hardy Photography

I was off to meet a legend and I mean LEGEND.

Another drive up to Heathrow which is soon becoming a 2nd home for me for a flight out to Lisbon. This would be my first time in Portugal and I can certainly tell you its GORGEOUS. I was heading out with A1 Sporting Memorabilia who as you know by now work with some incredible people.

It was time for me to photograph Eric Cantona, who if you don’t who he is, well then I suggest that you look him up. Long retired from the sport that he still adores he is still a huge influnce in the game and loved by millions of footballing fans across the globe.

I won’t bore you with how nice the hotel was or how hot is was because I’m not that kinda guy, But it was stunning and boiling ;)!

So the big man arrived, After knowing what he was like on the pitch (sometimes he got a bit lively) I was eager to meet him. A warm smile and handshake the man has changed but in a positive way, More relaxed and humble and also sporting a fantastic beard to which I soon regretted getting rid of mine.

We got underway with the job in hand and then it was time for a photo with the king (he was dubbed this in his career days)

I knew it had to be a good one as I might not meet the man again so I pulled out my best smile and…. well I will let you make up your own mind image below.

All I can say is that it was truly incredible to meet him and he gained even more respect from me after he departed such a humble and nice man.

Thanks Eric

Pig On The Family Portrait’s – June’s 80th Birthday

I was invited to a rather special birthday lunch at the stunning pig on the beach in Studland. I was there to photograph and document the celebrations. I was booked by the family of Jo who was turning 80 in the week. They had organised a lovely lunch with of course cake which I kindly declined still being on my 2016 health kick.

The lunch was served in a lovely little outhouse of the grounds which made a incredible setting for her birthday party. After the main course we explored the beautiful grounds of the hotel as it overlooks old harry rocks and bournemouth seafront. This made the perfect backdrop for family photos.

Below are a small selection from the day.

I would also like to personally say HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jo!

My professional portrait shoots start from as little as £95, and if you have your own event or celebration then this is ideal for you.

@London Instameet WWIM13LONDON

I cannot believe being a photographer that I have not visited the big smoke sooner.

Saturday was #wwim13london hosted by Dave Burt from @London and his team of incredible people. Leaving home at silly o’clock with my mate Rob we headed to the capital. Coffee was definitely needed, as it would be nearly 4 hours till we got to our destination. After parking the car it was time to experience my first Uber! What a genius idea and its defiantly for me, I am hoping we can get it back in the countryside.

We arrived at the stunning hotel and headed for the meeting room to sign in. There was already a huge crowd as it was nearly go time. We were then invited in and everyone gathered in the large meeting room and we got underway. After an introduction to the @London team we were then briefed on how the day would unfold.

Go time!

We were set loose on London, myself and Rob headed straight for the tube to get over to the new walkie tower. The tower stands and an impressive 160 meters tall and has some stunning views of the big smoke. After an hour flew past and lots of photo taking opportunities we headed back on the tube to see fellow photographer and friend Matt Spracklen host a talk at Southbank. After Matts formative talk on his photography and music we were joined by the talented and new artist Mahilia, what a voice! she played a very small live acoustic set for us on Southbank whilst the glorious sun was shinning what a treat.

It was then lunch and a regroup in St jame’s park for part 2 of the day #dosomethingfornothing. As there was a large group of us gathered in London the organisers from Do Something For Nothing (Joshua, Dave, And Matt) asked if we could go out and all do something positive for the afternoon. We were set locations and challenges for the next couple of hours. I was sent off to Carnaby street with a small group of photographers. We decided we wanted to help the homeless by providing them with food, water and a good old chat. I met Brian a homeless man with 4 lovely little dogs. I also purchased my first ever Big Issue! After chatting with Brian we let him be and went to help others in the area.

After spending the afternoon doing something incredibly positive we headed over to the Hospital Club for the evenings Antics hosted by @London I took to photographing the nights entertainment. The Bloom Twins and then the Xcerts were booked and what Incredible live acts they are it topped the whole day off.

But Rob and me were not finished there, we took to the city at night and walked what seemed miles and miles photographing the city and the Iconic landmarks at night. I couldn’t believe how busy London is at 3am. After being up all day we decided it was time to venture home.

An immense 24 hours in London and I have so many people to thank for making it and incredible day. I also wanted to thank all the new faces I met and for getting to know them!

Here is a selection of images from the day in the big smoke,

THANK YOU TEAM @LONDON

Gareth Bale Icons Memorabilia & Matt Hardy Photography

So it was time to jet off again,

This time to sunny Madrid for my first visit to the city. I was teaming with Icons.com who as you know work with best footballers in the world. It would be my first time photographing Gareth Bale but the fellas from icons assured me it would be a good one.

We landed into Madrid at 10pm and headed straight to the hotel knowing tomorrow was going to be a busy day. A nice lye in and breakfast before go time and for the soon arrival of Gareth.

Gareth arrived and we got underway after a few handshakes and talk about what hes been up to. I can certainly say Gareth is proud to be Welsh and also has a huge love of golf!

With the work done it was time to get a photo with the man himself before he shortly departed.
